About the firm
A firm built on principle, precision, and personal service
Coetzee and Co Attorneys was founded on a straightforward conviction: that clients deserve direct access to experienced lawyers, honest advice, and representation they can trust.
Our story
Coetzee and Co Attorneys was established by Ruan Coetzee after nearly a decade at a prominent Pretoria law firm. Having built a reputation for thoroughness and client-centred service, Ruan founded the firm with a clear purpose — to offer South Africans a practice where every client is known by name, not by file number.
The firm is deliberately structured to remain independent and focused. We do not spread ourselves across every conceivable area of law. Instead, we have built genuine depth in the disciplines we practise — Family Law, Commercial Law, Labour Law, Criminal Law, Litigation, and Contract Law — ensuring that the advice we give is grounded in real experience.
We are admitted to practise in the Magistrate's Court and the High Court, and we appear regularly before specialist tribunals including the CCMA and the Labour Court and other forums. Our work is governed at all times by the rules and ethical standards of the Legal Practice Council of South Africa.
Our mission
To provide every client with the quality of legal representation that was once reserved for large corporations — delivered with the personal attention that only a focused, independent firm can offer.
Integrity
We give frank, honest advice even when it is not what a client hopes to hear. Our duty to the court and to the law is non-negotiable.
Accessibility
Clients speak directly with the attorney handling their matter. There are no layers of delegation, no unanswered calls, no unexplained delays.
Precision
Legal outcomes turn on detail. We read every document, question every assumption, and prepare every matter as though it will be contested.
Discretion
Legal matters are personal. We treat every instruction with the confidentiality and sensitivity it deserves.
Every matter starts with a conversation
If you have a legal question or need representation, we invite you to contact us. There is no obligation — only an honest conversation about how we can assist.
